The “hog tie” is a classic staple of bondage fantasies all over the world, from shibari to western rope, in novels, cartoons, movies, and more…with the tied partner prone, arms, body and legs tied together behind their back, few ties can be as fun, and as immobilising, inviting of a deep sense of surrender, power exchange and “helplessness” as this firm favourite. Whether you are interested in fantasy play, complete immobilisation, submission, domination, meditative states or any other dynamic, there is something for you here.
In this class-to-jam we will explore the form and ideas behind the Hog Tie, how to achieve it with special ties, body handling, positioning, safety and the varying degrees of intensity available to you. It can be intense or hilarious, for giggles or very serious and everything in between.
It can be used as a standalone tie to create interesting sensations of surrender or positions for play, or part of a more involved scene ending in complete restraint. A wonderful result is the feeling of movement and agency returning to the bound partner as the tie is gradually removed.
This class and jam is suitable for beginners, and we will offer two different versions. Those new to rope will learn simple, easy to remember ties to play with, and the more experienced will learn more complex methods and ways to incorporate intensity and partial suspension.
