Learning this fundamental tie opens your Shibari practice up to a world of possibility - it has most of the technical components of common ties (frictions, correct tension, lock-offs) allowing for translation of the skills you gain here into other areas of your practice. If tied without precise attention to rope tension and placement it can be a very high risk tie. Learning the correct method for this tie will give you the respect and reverence for the craft of rope bondage we think it deserves.
